Nikoline Ziemer is mother to three and hopes to create a new party.

Nikoline Ziemer, 34, would like to form her own party, Sorlaat Partiiat. But before that can be realised, she has to collect 1000 signatures. But that's nothing that worries the hard-working biologist and mother to three.

'I've always been ambitious,' she said.

The idea of creating a new party has appealed to Ziemer for some time, since she has always doubted which party she belonged to.

'All parties have their advantages and disadvantages, but the disadvantages have always weighed heaviest, so I wouldn't join a party,' she said.

For that reason, she wanted to create her own party in the hope that she could gain more influence on Greenland's future.

'Because in the long run, politicians are the ones with power,' she said. 'The power to make plans and what direction society should go.'

During the weekend and evening, when children are put to bed, she manages her political career.

'I often sit in the evening and write mails and talk with people,' said Ziemer.

In Denmark, she was an candidate for the Socialist People's Party, but hopes within five years she can join Greenland's political elite.
